Christmas Cake Topper

Malton Cookery School will be running Christmas themed courses and demos on 7th and 8th December.

On both days you can book into a Christmas Cake Topper course running at 10am and 2pm each day.

Course participants will make a beautiful traditional wreath design or a fun and friendly robin design out of icing. All equipment and ingredients are provided. Debbie Raw from Malton Cookery School will be on hand to give lots of tips and helpful tricks with skills like: modelling, piping, colouring and shaping. Participants will go home with a fabulous show stopper of a cake topper ready to put on their Christmas cake at home!

Pre-booking is advised, as each course can only accommodate 8 people.

Our original Tour, ‘The Artisan’ will get you behind the scenes of Malton’s best producers, experiencing the town’s passion for incredible artisan food and drink. Book a ticket and munch your way around Malton’s charming streets, learning local history and tasting delicious Yorkshire food and famous local produce.

With your friendly guide you’ll visit a varying selection of ‘Made in Malton’ producers and specialists shops sampling a range of seasonal delights that could include brownies, vegetarian pastries, home made chorizo and scotch eggs, Yorkshire cheese, freshly ground coffee, championship beer, whisky, gin, macarons and gelato plus a surprise dish from the Talbot kitchens.

Yorkshire Seafood Masterclass

Just 25 miles to the coast Malton enjoys deliveries of some of the finest crab, razor clams, monkfish, gurnard, mackerel and lobster in Britain. Our seafood course will allow you to confidently prepare and cook the most delicious of fish and shellfish dishes. Our Yorkshire Seafood Cookery course is one of our most popular courses and has a seasonal menu enabling you to enjoy it time and time again.

Course Outline

Our Masterclass is the flagship course for all things seafood. You will learn core skills like descaling and filleting as well as classic dishes, sauces and techniques giving you new knowledge to impress the family and get to grips with delicious new species of fish at home.

This masterclass with head tutor Gilly Robinson will be a balance of demonstrations matched with hands on cooking. As always all the dishes will be eaten in the school with a glass of wine or two!
