The supper club is there for those who want to have a relaxed evening doing something new, or for those who want to learn how to cook great food, with a difference, at home. Set in a relaxing environment, pop over after work, cook with some amazing local ingredients and make great tasting dishes that you can recreate with friends.

Learn how to cook a quick 2 course dinner party menu, with tips on getting ahead and preparation, so that you can easily recreate the evening at home for friends, Stress free with time to relax with your guests.

Our Masterclass is the flagship course for all things seafood. With a balance of demonstrations matched with hands on cooking you will learn core skills like descaling and filleting as well as classic dishes, sauces and techniques giving you new knowledge to impress the family and get to grips with delicious new species of fish at home.

Our seafood course will allow you to confidently prepare and cook the most delicious of fish and shellfish dishes.

Our Yorkshire Seafood Cookery course is one of our most popular courses and has a seasonal menu enabling you to enjoy it time and time again. The idea is to have a relaxed time at the Malton Cookery School so the teaching will be informal but knowledgeable.

Men on Monday

Relax on a Monday evening With our informal Men on Monday course. Pop over after work, or enjoy as a part of a day off. This course is for those who want a relaxed atmosphere with expert tutors to learn how to create great tasting food.

Learn to cook two straightforward tasty dishes to be enjoyed round the kitchen table at the end of the class with a glass of wine. This course will include important knife skills and is aimed to build confidence and proficiency whatever your ability.

Course Outline

Arrive at the Cookery School at 6pm for an introduction Gilly, your tutor for the evening. While you enjoy a glass of wine or beer, Gilly will talk you through the evening and issue with your recipes and talk you through the preparation of your dishes.

Finish the evening by enjoying the fruits of your labour before heading home with your recipe pack and Malton Cookery School apron.

Dinner at the Chefs Table with Paul Leonard

19th April 2019

Headed by award winning Chef, Paul Leonard, The Burlington Restaurant at the Devonshire Arms Hotel and Spa specialises in seasonal and ever-changing tasting menus.

From home-grown fruit and vegetables from the Hotel’s own kitchen garden, to produce reared and caught on the Estate, each and every ingredient is carefully considered from seed to plate within our menus here. These ingredients are then cooked skilfully by Paul and his team, who take pride in creating special dining experiences for the guest.

Leonard was previously sous chef at Andrew Fairlie at Gleneagles, which holds two Michelin stars.

Passionate about home-grown fruit and vegetables, Paul says that one of his greatest inspirations is organic kitchen garden specialist Ken Holland, once head gardener at L’Enclume in Cartmel, Cumbria, who now runs his own vegetable supply business in Northumberland.
