This course will boost your confidence and develop your culinary skills, as well as offering a knowledge of cooking which gives you the ability and inspiration to create masterpieces in your own kitchen for family and friends.
It’s all about preparation, presentation and timing! A four course meal cooked step by step and presented on time.
Arrive at the Malton Cookery School at 10 am for tea & coffee while Gilly, your tutor will talk you through the day and issue you with your aprons and menu packs.
Dishes are prepared and eaten throughout the day with a glass of wine or two!
Your day concludes at 4pm – Remember to take your apron and menu packs with you so you can replicate the dishes at home!

Our range of meat cookery and butchery courses offer something for everyone. This class concentrates on pies and terrines, demonstrating how best to select and cook using the finest Yorkshire meat and poultry at we near the end of the game season.
As well as learning about different cuts of meat and which cooking method is most appropriate you will learn a number of recipes to produce the tastiest of meat-based meals.
We show you all the techniques you need to know, from the preparation to the presentation. The Best of Yorkshire Meat course will give you the confidence to use local produce and follow these delicious recipes.

Our original Tour, ‘The Artisan’ will get you behind the scenes of Malton’s best producers, experiencing the town’s passion for incredible artisan food and drink. Book a ticket and munch your way around Malton’s charming streets, learning local history and tasting delicious Yorkshire food and famous local produce.
With your friendly guide you’ll visit a varying selection of ‘Made in Malton’ producers and specialists shops sampling a range of seasonal delights that could include brownies, vegetarian pastries, home made chorizo and scotch eggs, Yorkshire cheese, freshly ground coffee, championship beer, whisky, gin, macarons and gelato.
10.30 am Meeting Point – Talbot Malton. We advise arriving 5 minutes beforehand. * As the tour visits a range of artisan producers, the specific dishes of the tour will vary depending on the time of year and the availability of goods.
