Pop-Up of the North is a shopping event and gathering of creative, independent makers and traders who flock from all corners of the North of the country, to come and showcase and sell their wares. The event, which will run once for 3 days in June and for a second time in September, will host approximately 2o carefully curated exhibitors at York House in Malton, North Yorkshire, one of the most historic houses in the country.
The setting makes the Pop-Up a joy to visit and shop at, as it’s a destination in itself; York House has recently been restored by the Fitzwilliam Estate, but prior to this has been sitting in Malton for over 300 years. The landscaped gardens are ideal for a summer stroll, and the venue has also been utilised for wedding receptions and other grand events.
Shoppers can expect a variety of exhibitors selling art and fashion, ceramics and patisserie goods, tea and furniture, such as Susi Bellamy, Trendlistr, Sessions & Co., Fitz & Fro, Michael Parkin Fine Art, Lost Tea Company, Kitty Pennybacker, Study 34 and more.
As well as shopping, there’ll be a host of workshops taking place across the event. Highlights include the Modern Calligraphy course with Lonetree, luxury stationers from Yorkshire, on Friday 28th June. In this workshop, you’ll learn the tricks of the calligraphy trade and get a calligraphy kit to take home with you. The next day, Bramper Biscuitswill host a Biscuit Decorating workshop, great for kids and budding bakers. Also on Saturday, learn how to embroider with Lora Avedian, a multidisciplinary artist who’ll teach guests how to embroider and create 2D flowers, using the ‘couching’ technique. Plus, for £10, you can join the drinks reception! Find the full list of exhibitors and workshops at priddenprandevents.com
