Castle Howard isn’t really a castle but a very, very big house. Only 15 minutes drive away from The Talbot, we can organise personal tours of the house for you or just go and have a wander. It’s still a private residence, owned by the Carlisle branch of the Howard family for more than 300 years.
Here are some examples of the type of experiences that we could arrange for you:
The Mausoleum is not open to the public, however the Curatorial Team at Castle Howard can take small groups and individual visitors up there for a private tour.
The curatorial team can provide behind the scenes tours to small groups or individuals where they will have chance to view parts of the house away from the main visitor route.
Our Curator could travel to your hotel to deliver a lecture over dinner, prior to your guest’s visiting Castle Howard.
Exclusive access to the house out of normal opening hours, visitors can have the house to themselves and explore with the Curator on hand to provide an insight into Castle Howard and it’s secrets. We can also add to this experience the opportunity to view and handle objects from our archive.
Please contact us to discuss any of the above ideas.
