Radek was born in Wroclaw, Poland and moved to York in February 2006.

Starting as a pot wash at Brigantes Brasserie, after a few months he jumped in to the kitchen and started studying at York College.

Year by Year Radek gained his experience working in restaurants and hotels around York, including Loch Fyne, The Grange Hotel, Royal York Hotel and Monkbar Hotel.

Radek opened his own café, ‘The Sitting Pig’ in 2013, but unfortunately had to close due to flooding in 2015. During its closure, Radek re- branded the restaurant and changed its name to Corner Grill House, focusing on quality food in a cosy ambient atmosphere. Within 2 years The Corner Grill managed to be one of the top restaurants in York on Trip Advisor.

“Cooking is my passion but I also like listening to music and traveling around Europe where I can get some new ideas for new dishes.”
